One of RedRover’s initiatives is an outreach program for pets and people in under-resourced neighborhoods. This blog served as a project recap for a deployment in Detroit, MI, in which I interviewed local residents and program partners, and an educational piece on the systemic barriers to opportunity marginalized populations face.
As Communications Coordinator at RedRover, I’ve created a “Behind-the-Scenes” series to highlight staff experiences and help our audience feel more connected to the ways in which we carry out our mission – some of which are less publicly promoted. In this series, entitled “Leading with Empathy: Behind the Scenes at RedRover,” I interview staff members from various programs about a specific, poignant experience they’ve had in their day-to-day responsibilities.
